ENGINEERS for SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Engineers for Social Responsibility Inc. is an independent group of engineers who consider that being knowledgeable in the field of technology means that they also have a special obligation to the public at large. INSTITUTE of PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS of NEW ZEALAND (IPENZ)

The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) is the professional body which represents professional engineers from all disciplines in New Zealand. INTERNATIONAL CENTRE for SUSTAINABILITY ENGINEERING and RESEARCH (ICSER)

Charges: Fostering leadership, innovation, creativity and Entrepreneurship and promoting the role of engineering in sustainability, indigenous engineering and an understanding of people and cultures within the context of engineering. To achieve this, ICSER will provide research and teaching in sustainability on a faculty wide basis and to offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sustainability Engineering.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT NEW ZEALAND (LGNZ)

Local Government New Zealand represents all of the 86 local authorities in New Zealand. We provide a link between the work of local government and the work of central government. Where needed we bring together the diversity of views in our sector to provide a national voice to central government. The New Zealand Institute of Gene Ecology was established in December 2001. Its membership includes natural scientists, social scientists, and philosophers within and outside academia. It has established working relationships with a number of environmental NGOs, government agencies, and biotechnology developers. The NZIGE has been inspired by, and works in cooperation with, the Norwegian Institute of Gene Ecology (GENØK).

ROYAL SOCIETY of NEW ZEALAND (RSNZ)

RSNZ is an independent and authoritative voice for New Zealand's S&T knowledge. As such, it is neither an arm of Government nor a branch of the private sector.

STANDARDS NEW ZEALAND

Standards New Zealand is heavily involved in the development and application of national, regional and international standards, of which many are developed in partnership with Australia. As New Zealand's representative in the international Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and its sister organisation, the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC), Standards New Zealand ensures that New Zealand's voice is heard, world-wide.

WASTE NOT AUCKLAND TRUST

The objective of this Trust is 'To move society towards sustainability'.

  • Waste Not Auckland Trust was set up in 1996 to promote recycling and cleaner production in companies by offering an inexpensive advisory service on waste management.
  • Dedicated to educating and researching the concept of sustainability and promoting its acceptance and practice in society.
